Jubilant Ringers offer free concert

Posted

Leavenworth Community United Methodist Church is proud to bring the Jubilant Ringers to Leavenworth for their 2018 tour concert. The concert will feature many sacred and secular favorites, including the 1950s hit Lollipop, Under the Sea from Walt Disney’s The Little Mermaid, and an exciting setting of Joshua Fit the Battle of Jericho performed on English handbells. The concert will also include performances by its members on trumpet, tenor saxophone, and baritone saxophone.

Admission is free and seating is first come first served. A freewill offering will be taken to help the group cover some of their travel expenses.

The Jubilant Ringers is one of four handbell choirs at Grace Lutheran Church in Des Moines, Washington. The 2017-2018 group is a quartet including youth in grade 10 up to college freshmen who have each demonstrated a long term commitment to ringing handbells with a high degree of musicality. Consistent with our church’s mission statement, “God’s heart. Our hands. Grace in action”, a goal of the Jubilant Ringers is to share God’s blessing of music with everyone, whether it be with our congregation on Sunday mornings, at events in our local region, or by touring outside of our region. In recent years, the group has traveled internationally to Japan, Korea, and Canada. This summer, the group is travelling to share their music with audiences in Eastern Washington, Idaho, and Montana.

The concert is Sunday, August 12, at 6:30 p.m. At Leavenworth Community United Methodist Church – 418 Evans Street.
