Try to pay attention!

Posted

Sometimes it’s just gets too twisted to actually think this is really happening.

Let’s see if I can make any sense of last week’s news from the big swamp.

It seems the Dems and their friends in the corporate media have been conspiring to blame Trump for colluding with the Russians to keep Hillary out of the White House.

But wait, Hillary was working to line her pockets with Russian cash using American uranium – can you say plutonium?

Seems kind of strange that the evil Vladimir Putin would be trying to submarine Hillary after a sweetheart deal like that.

But I digress.

Now some low life in the FBI wants to blow the whistle on the whole nest of rats, but first he has to be released from his non-disclosure agreement? Seems to get the really juicy jobs in Washington you have to sign up not to rat out the rats.

Hillary of course is claiming once again it’s old news cooked up by the opposition to cover up for Trumps stealing the election.

According to Hillary it all happened before she was Secretary of State and it took 9 different Federal agencies to sign off on the deal. Well, there are nine members of The Committee on Foreign Investments that must approve foreign investments that raise potential national security issues. That committee can’t actually reject any deals they can only approve or refer them to the President.

The question is did Hillary have another one of her senior moments where she forgot she was one of the nine members of that committee? It appears that nobody knows if they ever actually discussed the deal because their deliberations are confidential. How convenient.

There is plenty to keep us commoners fighting and arguing for years here. The problem is that the swamp is full of murky deals, double-dealing, lies, fraud and the politics of personal destruction – oh, excuse me opposition research.

Meanwhile, the politically connected become rich while the middle class struggle. So much for looking out for the “little guy.”

Already there are calls for Congressional investigations. The problem is that is asking the fox to investigate the other foxes. And assigning a “special prosecutor” will guarantee that another political insider will get a lot of our tax dollars making a career out of finding some low level staff member to prosecute for some unconnected infraction.

What we need is to employ the weapons of environmentalists and community activists. We need to find some private attorneys who are willing to file class action lawsuits against the committee members and elected representatives who have personally benefitted from their political decisions and activity.

Currently, there is no penalty to the powerful politicians who are gaming the system for their own benefit. It is doubtful that Hillary will ever have to do jail time or make restitution for her duplicitous activities.

Don’t get me wrong. There are plenty of bad actors on both sides of the political aisle. But as long as there are no penalties for their abuse of their political power the problem will continue to grow.

The problem is the swamp is full of slimy creatures that slip away leaving some naïve assistant holding the bag.

They keep all of us arguing and fighting over the crumbs they throw our way. Meanwhile unemployment rates among minorities and young unskilled workers continues to grow despite ever increasing minimum wage rates. Health Insurance has become unaffordable to most Americans and wages have stagnated for decades.

The rats are scurrying for cover. Donald Trump may not be the perfect President but it is clear he makes the rats nervous. Its time for all of us to put pressure on our Congressional representatives, Democrat or Republican, and make it clear that they need to work with Trump to cut taxes, repeal the failed Health Care plan, fix immigration and develop a plan to balance the budget.

None of these things can be done overnight but we must change the direction of Washington politics. Otherwise, expect the rats to get bigger.
