Pianist Nilsen at LCUMC

At Leavenworth Community United Methodist Church, 6 p.m. Saturday, July 15, please join us for a very special solo concert by Pacific Northwest pianist, John Nilsen. His repertoire covers elements of Christian hymnody and classical music, and features selections from John’s original piano solos. The concert is free, but one may give a love offering. Cascade Open Golf

The 2017 Cascade Open is a golf fundraiser for Cascade High School athletics. The fundraiser is being held on Friday, July 14 at the Leavenworth Golf Club. A four-person scramble is open to all. The shotgun start is at 9:30 a.m. Cost is $90 person, which includes 18 holes of golf, cart, barbecue at Wild Huckleberry, prizes and raffle. Register at or Leavenworth Golf Club. Lake Wenatchee

Lake Wenatchee State Park summer programs

At 2 p.m. on Saturdays, July 8, July 29 and Aug. 26, the Lake Wenatchee Fire and Rescue Department will provide a Junior Ranger program featuring fire safety information, demonstrations and hands-on involvement with fire trucks, water supplies, firefighter gear and emergency vehicles. (e27,28)

Please join us at SAGE on Wednesday, July 26 for a 1 to 1:30 p.m. brown bag. Therapist Courtney Mohr-Taylor will be presenting on self-care interventions to prevent compassionate fatigue. Art and Poetry of Martha Flores

Be Strong My Little Ones, families torn apart by new immigration laws features the art and poetry of Leavenworth artist Martha Flores from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, July 14 at 18 N Mission St. in Wenatchee. Refreshments will be served. Sponsored by Hand in Hand Immigration and Citizenship Services. Thirty percent of the proceeds will be donated to Hand in Hand. (er28)
