Hilfreiche Hausfrauen Craft Fair

The Hilfreiche Hausfrauen Club, a group of “Helping Housewives” invite the community to join them at their annual Christmas Lighting Craft Fair on Saturday, Dec. 2 and 9 at the Leavenworth Senior Center, 423 Evans St. from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. The craft fair, which has been held each year since 1971, will feature handmade items, such as sweaters, hats, scarves, towels, and items for babies, children and adults. Proceeds from the fair will go to purchase equipment for Cascade Medical and other local charities. For further information, Gen at 548-6222. (e47.48)

Christmas Lighting Craft Fair, Bake Sale, and Luncheon,

The Leavenworth Community United Methodist Women are holding their annual Christmas Lighting Craft Fair, Bake Sale and Luncheon on Saturdays, Dec. 2, 9, and 16  at the Community United Methodist Church, 418 Evans St. Leavenworth, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Lunch will be served  from 11:30 – 3 p.m. Lunch will be a homemade meal, with dessert, beverage and hot drinks served all day. Cost by donation. Proceeds go towards church programs, and local, national, and international missions. The Sanctuary will be open to pause and reflect during the day. Leavenworth Women’s Exchange

The Leavenworth Women’s Exchange annual Christmas party will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 13 at 6 p.m. at The Alley Café, 8th Street and the alley, Leavenworth. The cost of dinner is $23 per person. Each person brings a small gift ($15 limit) to exchange. Leavenworth Red Cross Blood Drive

The Leavenworth Red Cross Blood Drive, sponsored by the Leavenworth Rotary Club, will be held at the Leavenworth Fire Hall, 228 Chumstick Hwy. on Thursday, Dec. 7, from 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. Your donation is needed.  For information or scheduling an appointment, call 1-800-REDCROSS, (1-800-733-2767). The Christmas Lighting Craft Fair at Leavenworth Senior Center

The Leavenworth Senior Center is having a Christmas Lighting Craft Fair on Dec. 9 from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. This is a great opportunity to show off your crafts as well as help the Senior Center with getting their new roof. 548-6666. (e47,48)

Senior Center 30 for 30 Campaign

The Leavenworth Senior Center needs to raise $30,000 for a new 30-year roof. The roof is very old and leaks. Can you help? The Senior Center plays a vital roles with over 300 members in the Leavenworth Community. They serve 35 meals a day to those senior who are able to attend and 30 meals a day via Meals on Wheels. Foul Play 5K

This is the best 5K in Leavenworth on Thanksgiving Day. Toss that turkey in the oven and join us to start the holiday season off right with and invigorating run through the streets of Leavenworth. NCESD calls for nominations

North Central Educational Service District (NCESD) has announced the call for nominations for the Classified School Employee of the Year award. The deadline is Jan. 26, 2018. School districts throughout the NCESD’s four-county service district are encouraged to nominate outstanding classified school employees for this distinguished award. A classified employee is defined as a person who is employed as a paraeducator and a person who does not hold a professional education certificate or is employed in a position that does not require such a certificate. A committee will review all nomination submissions and select a winner who will represent the NCESD service district in the statewide selection process. Chelan County Comprehensive Plan workshop

Chelan County is seeking public comment and interactive discussion between the County Commissioners and the public on proposed changes to the Chelan County Comprehensive Plan & Development Regulations. The County Commissioners will host several workshops in November and December. The second workshop is November 28 at 10:30 a.m. to review the Comprehensive Plan Housing, Resources, Shorelines and Transportation Elements. Animal Shelter holiday event

Wenatchee Valley Humane Society (WVHS) is hosting its annual holiday event on Saturday, Dec. 2, from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at Pybus Event Center, located at Pybus Public Market.This year’s event, sponsored by Nutrisource Pet Foods, features a brunch, complete with Bloody Marys and Mimosas, and musical entertainment provided by Wenatchee Valley Appleaires.
