Grange seeks vendors for Autumn Leaf Bazaar

The Chumstick Grange is seeking arts and crafts vendors for its annual Autumn Leaf Bazaar. The Bazaar will take place during the Autumn Leaf Festival on Sept. 22, 23, 24 and also on Sept. 29, 30, and Oct. 1. The location is 621 Front St. at the Grange Hall. Museum Harvest Tea

Upper Valley Museum is proud to sponsor their eighth Annual Women’s Tea this year. The date is Oct. 5, 1 p.m. at the Grange Hall on 621 Front St. The tea will be honoring the past Royal Ladies of the Autumn Leaves. The tickets go on sale Sept. 1, and admission is by advanced ticket sale only. They have a limited number to tickets to sell, plan ahead get your ticket early. Lions health screenings Leavenworth Lions and health volunteers will offer free health screenings inside the NW Lions Foundation Health Screening Van on Saturday, Sept. 23 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Lions Club Park in downtown Leavenworth.  Eye-sight, glaucoma, hearing, blood pressure, and blood sugar levels will be checked in the professional mobile trailer. Wenatchee River Salmon Festival

The Wenatchee River Salmon Festival invites you to our 27th year of School Days and an Open House being held on Sept. 28 and 29. Don’t miss this unique nature festival that has been awarded many achievements, throughout the Pacific Northwest, including the “Best Children’s Program” by the International Festivals and Events Association. Over 3,000 area school children attend ‘School Days’ with a special Open House after-school program Sept. 28 from 3 to 6 p.m. This year’s event will not feature a full Saturday program. Leavenworth Lions Club Community Breakfast

The Leavenworth Lions Club is holding a community breakfast this Saturday, Sept. 23, 7 to 11 a.m., in the Lions Club Park. All-You-Can-Eat pancakes, eggs cooked to order, sausage, coffee, tea, and milk for only $7 for adults, $3.50 for children 4-10, free for children under 4. Come enjoy a hearty breakfast and visit with your local community members. Purchase a Punch Card for $39 from any Lion member or at the breakfasts. It is good for six adult breakfasts. Household hazardous waste collection

Firewise Communities Chipping Event

This service is free for residents of Chelan County. Trees and limbs up to 8-inches in diameter, trimming and bush allowed. Noxious weeds, sod, animal waste, garbage, or plastic bags not allowed. The Alzheimer’s Association hosts Wenatchee Town Hall

Local panelists will highlight state and federal issues important to the community, including unpaid family caregivers. The Alzheimer’s Association, Washington State Chapter is hosting a Town Hall in Wenatchee Nov. 16. This event is one of 15 being held across Washington and Northern Idaho to educate community members on the Washington State Plan to address Alzheimer’s Disease and other dementia. Piano concert to benefit scholarships for music students

The Wenatchee Valley Music Teachers Association will present a Benefit Concert featuring guest artist, Dr. Jody Graves to raise funds for their scholarship fund. The concert will be held Sunday, Nov. 5 at 2 p.m. at the Wenatchee Grace Lutheran Church. Suggested donation is $15 for adults, $8 for students, and $25 for family. All proceeds will go to the scholarship fund. Additional donations may be made to WVMTA Scholarship Fund. Tickets will be available at the door. (er37,38)

WSU Diabetes Prevention Program

The WSU Diabetes Prevention Program class series is starting in Wenatchee on Tuesday, Sept. 26 at 10 a.m. The classes will be held at Central Washington Hospital in Wenatchee. The Diabetes Prevention Program is a lifestyle change program that helps people develop lifelong skills for healthy living with step-by-step changes. The program can help you lose weight and prevent or delay type 2 diabetes. The classes are for people with prediabetes, which is when your blood sugar is higher than normal, but not so high it can’t be lowered. Preregistration is required to determine eligibility.
