Posted

The Cascade High School boys basketball team started the new year on Jan. 4 with a 54-26 win against Highland in a nonleague game.

The Kodiaks jumped to a 12-9 lead in the first quarter and never looked back, maintaining the margin for the rest of the game. Cascade scored double digits in the second half with 20 points in the third frame, and 13 in the final eight minutes.

Cascade showed balanced scoring with Isaac Cortes leading the Kodiaks with 13 and Ethan Burpee adding 11.

The Kodiaks, who are 0-5 in Caribou Trail League play, return to their conference schedule on Jan. 8 with a home game against Chelan.
