Posted

For the fourth year in a row, Cascade’s Washington State H.S. Equestrian Team (WAHSET) won the District One Team “High Point Title” earning the honor over the course of competition during the season’s three meets held in March and April.
The team of nine student athletes was led by five Seniors - Monica Alloway, Schyler Archer, Hollie Dahl, Mackenzie Imes, and Jacob Masengale. Sophomore Hailey Bermingham and Freshmen Ava Holmes, Baz Lloyd, and Sasha Morgan rounded out the team and also contributed to the highly successful season.
Competing in WAHSET’s District One against other schools from Mt. Spokane, Deer Park, Colville, Wenatchee, Ephrata, Chelan, Cheney, Mead, and Smokiam), the Cascade team averaged 177.56 points per student athlete, besting 6 other teams in the “Small Team” category (10 students and under). Additionally, the team’s average was also higher than that of the team who won the District’s “Medium Team” size.
Points were earned in Individual and Team events in Performance, Cattle, and Gaming Events over the season. Students may participate in up to five Individual as well as other Team events. Medals were awarded based on total points earned in each event over the three meets.
