Cascade softball continues CTL winning streak

Lady Kodiaks deliver 14-7 thumping to Chelan

The Cascade softball team continued to run through the Caribou Trail League after a 14-7 win over Chelan on April 16.

The Lady Kodiaks opened with a 1-0 lead in the first frame on a Chelan error. With a two-run lead, Cascade drove in seven runs, with one run from Sarah Paulson’s single and Renee Lambert’s three-run homer, followed by a five-run fifth. The Lady Goats answered with three runs in the fourth frame.

Paulson led Cascade at the plate, going 3-for-5 with four RBIs, two runs and a double. Lambert was 2-for-4 with four RBIs, two runs and a homer run. Truh Merriman went 2-for-4 with an RBI and two runs. Alondra Acevedo also had two hits.

Paulson, who earned the pitching win, was also lights out on the mound, giving up only five hits and striking out 11 batters.

Cascade (7-1 CTL, 11-3) sits at the top of the conference, one game above Okanogan. The Lady Kodiaks take a break from conference play on April 17 when they travel to Wenatchee to play the 4A Lady Panthers.
