Icicle Bicycle Club (IBC), Leavenworth’s middle school and high school team ended their season strong.
“We had a number of new riders to the team that have really grown and excelled in the sport. We’re as proud of them as we are the race winner,” said Travis Blue, IBC coach.
At the Washington Student Cycling League (WSCL) State Championships at Squilchuck State Park on Saturday, June 2, 31 of the 39 registered team members raced. Eight team members placed in the top 4 in the race in their respective categories.
Sisters Isabel and Caroline Menna placed first, in their categories earning them the State Championship title. In addition, five of team members placed in the top 3 in the overall series, winning multiple races throughout the season.
Icicle River Middle School held on to their first place team ranking for the race and earning it for the series. What a season!

Stella Johnson took second in the race, and first overall for the series
Advanced Middle School GirlsEdie Walker placed fourth in the race

Olen Johnson placed second in the race, and second overall in the series
Greer Swoboda placed second in the race, and third overall in the series
7th GradeIsabel Menna placed first in the race, first in the series and was named a State Champion
6th Grade Girls/Boys
Caroline Menna placed first in the race, and was named a State Champion
Mia Dreis placed second in the race, and third overall in the series
Jonas Johnson placed third in the race, and third overall in the series
