Berg Rose Apartment fire displaced residents

Posted

Piercing sirens startled the quiet Bavarian Village Thursday, September 6 when the Berg Rose Apartments had fire within an apartment. The fire drew in crowds and pushed out residents.

With several fire districts responding and concerned neighbors observing, news of the apartment fire quickly began swirling through town and what the possible result would be of it. Smoke damage, a resident taken to the hospital and several displaced occupants were some of the outcomes that funneled from the fire.

According to the Chelan County Fire District #3 fire marshal, the fire was reported at 9:23 a.m. Firefighters made entry of the apartment at 9:35 and the fire was knocked down by 9:43 a.m., making it a relatively swift process.

The longest course of action was the firefighters having to plan entry into the apartment while simultaneously evacuating the other residents in the building in case the fire spread. After the initial fear and confusion subsided and several fire departments showed up to the scene, it appeared that the fire was out; however, there would still be lingering effects on several of the residents.

Two of the Berg Rose apartment residents are currently displaced for the unforeseeable future. There was significant fire damage to the apartment where the fire originated and smoke damage to the surrounding apartments.

The Berg Rose apartments are still waiting to hear back from the insurance company and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.

“We really appreciate the community effort during this time. The residents really appreciate it,” said Jennifer Sidebottom, manager of Berg Rose apartments.
