Cascade Medical welcomes new clinic provider

Posted

Cascade Medical is excited to announce Kelly Boeing,  PA-C, will join our team of eight primary care providers in August. Boeing specializes in family medicine, with expertise in nutrition and chronic disease management.

Boeing worked as a primary care provider for nearly five years with Oregon Medical Group in Eugene, Oregon. She helped a variety of patients, especially in the areas of preventative and wellness care, geriatric health and women’s health.

“I think my patients would describe me as approachable and easy to talk to,” Boeing said. “The whole reason I got into medicine was that passion I have for prevention and promoting a healthy lifestyle. I can reach the most people with that message in family practice.”

She earned a Master of Physician Assistant Studies from Pacific University in Hillsboro, Oregon, in 2012. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology at the State University of New York, Geneseo, in 2006. A New York native, Boeing moved to the West Coast as an Americorps volunteer. Her work teaching diabetes wellness classes inspired her to research nutrition and medicine more in-depth.

In her current practice, she has seen dramatic changes in her patients’ health and wellbeing – even the reversal of chronic disease in some cases – by coaching them into a new dietary plan and habitual exercise.

“I’m not the kind of provider who says, ‘There’s a pill for that,’” Boeing said. “I like to talk with my patients, explore the options and if they’re motivated to make changes in their life, I can help them through that.”

Boeing replaces Carrie Kingsley, ARNP, who left Cascade Medical in April to study midwifery.

Boeing said Cascade Medical felt different than other clinics she considered. She was drawn to the staff’s dedication to good-quality patient care, as well as the emphasis on healthy work-life balance. She also loved the area’s natural beauty and the close access to pristine wilderness.

An avid trail runner, Boeing also practices yoga and loves to cook.

Boeing will begin seeing patients Aug. 1. To book an appointment, call the Family Practice Clinic at 548-3420.
