Coles Corner coffee stand allegedly robbed at gunpoint

Posted

Little Red’s Coffee Stand near Cole’s Corner reported a robbery on Dec. 26. According to a Chelan County Sheriff’s Office news release, a barista at the coffee stand said at 12:42 p.m., a suspicious man walked by the coffee stand window.
She then locked to the door and watched him walked to a vehicle, a tan GMC Yukon. The driver of the vehicle looked like a woman, but the barista could not tell because the person was wearing a hooded sweatshirt.
The barista was texting a coworker when someone knocked on the window. According to the news release, the man was back at the window wearing a black bandana, saying he had a gun and was demanding money from the till.
The barista gave the man around $200 from the till, then called 911. Soon afterward, a Washington State Transportation Department employee reported seeing the vehicle westbound from Cole’s Corner.
The vehicle was stopped just west of the Steven’s Pass summit by a Chelan County Deputy and King County Deputy. A 25-year old woman from Langley and a 29-year old man from Everett were taken into custody and booked into the Chelan County Regional Justice Center on First Degree Robbery and Third Degree theft charges.
A firearm was not located in the vehicle or on either suspect. Clothing matching the barista’s description was found along with $220 in a hiding spot in the Yukon.
