Henry “Hank” W. Parkins

Henry “Hank” W. Parkins was born on March 23, 1941 in Leavenworth, Washington to Jeanette “Billie” and Charles Parkins and raised as a Catholic. Hank served in the U.S. Coast Guard from 1957-1961.
Hank married Ellyn (McKenna) on Jan. 6, 1962 and finally settled in Leavenworth, Washington where they raised their family. He worked at Peshastin Sawmill until he went to work at ALCOA as a mechanic until he retired.
There was nothing more important to Hank than his family. He enjoyed taking them fishing and watching their excitement catching fish. Hank was always there to lend a hand to family, friends, and neighbors. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, gold panning, woodworking, and snowmobiling. He also loved sharing past memories and experiences with his family.
Hank will be missed by many, but leaves behind many good memories and now he will reunite with Ellyn who died Nov. 10, 2017.
He is survived by his siblings Stan and Jeannie; children Colleen, Teri, Michael; grandchildren Ryan, Tasha, Talen, Karlee, Jacob, Blake, Jeremy, Taylor, Jessica; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Jeanette and Charles Parkins, wife Ellyn, and one granddaughter Kierstin.
At Hank’s request, there will be no service held at this time. Memorial contributions may be made in Hank’s name to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital at 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105.
Ward’s Funeral Chapel in Leavenworth is in charge of arrangements.
