Dorothy May (Watson Southwick) Elser

Dorothy May (Watson Southwick) Elser age 94 of Dryden, formerly of Leavenworth, passed away on June 2, 2018. She was born in Fowler, Colorado to John I. Watson and Nellie (Foss) Watson. She graduated from Leavenworth High School in 1941.
She worked several seasons packing pears and apples at Leavenworth Fruit Company. Then, she worked a number of years as cook at Cascade Hospital. Dorothy was very active for many years in the Peshastin American Legion and then the Cashmere Post. She spent lots of hours knitting, crocheting and doing needlepoint. She knitted Christmas stockings and made Afghans for all the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as Afghans for the VA hospital.
She is survived by her children Larry (Karen) Southwick, John (Trish) Elser, Don Elser, James (Jenn) Elser, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and families. She is preceded in death by her husband Justin Elser, daughter Sharon Williams, her three brothers and five sisters.
There is no service as per her request. We will be holding a Celebration of Life at the Elser-Watson Family Reunion in July for her and daughter Sharon. For any questions, please feel free to contact the family.
