Albert LeRoy Howie

Albert LeRoy Howie, of Leavenworth, Washington went to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 4, 2018 after a courageous battle with Myelodyspalastic syndrome. He peacefully passed away at home surrounded with love of his family. Albert was born and raised in San Bernardino, and graduated from San Bernardino High School in 1963. He enlisted in the United States Air Force and because of his talent and skill set he was chosen to work on the Minuteman Missile as a missile maintainer, and was stationed in Great Falls, Montana. After serving his country, he moved back to his home town of Devore, California, and began working for the General Telephone Company (GTE) until he retired in 1994. Albert and his one true love DeAnn moved to Leavenworth, Washington in 1985 to pursue their lifelong dream of owning Dee's Country Accents and Mrs. Anderson's Lodging House, until they retired together in June, 2018. Albert was a very generous, godly man that enjoyed giving to others and helping in the community. He was recognized for his contribution of hanging Christmas lights, participating on the board of Art in the Park, and helping people in need. Albert enjoyed fixing and building things with his hands, and will be well remembered for all of his creations. He enjoyed spending time with his beloved wife and family, and living his life dedicated to his strong faith.
Surviving is his wife DeAnn of Leavenworth, WA, three children, Keri Howie of Tacoma, WA., Kevin Howie of Billings, MT. and Karlene Howie of Eugene, OR. Six grandchildren, Lekia' Refour of Tacoma, WA., Tyler Hendrickson of Ocean Shores, WA., Desmond Gullette of Kennewick, WA., Mikayla Hendrickson of Eugene, OR., Austin Howie of Billings, MT., Micah Cichosz of Eugene, OR., and two great grandchildren Cordae Refour of Tacoma, WA., and Daelynn Johnson of Tacoma, WA.
Please join the family to celebrate Albert's life on November 17, 2018 from 1-3 p.m. at the Leavenworth Senior Center, 423 Evans Street, in Leavenworth, Washington. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting a contribution in memory of Albert's generosity be sent to the Women's Resource Center, PO Box 2051, Wenatchee, WA. 98807.
