Earl John Whaley

Earl John Whaley, Leavenworth, passed away Aug. 20, 2017 at Central Washington Hospital. Earl was born Nov. 11, 1929 to Isaac Lincoln Whaley and Sarah E. Manning Whaley. He was the youngest of nin children. 

He came to Washington about 1952 and married Ruth Rudolph in 1953. To this marriage were born John and Deborah. On June 7, 1969, he married Gloria (Joan) Brim Gough, who had Dan Gough and Shannon Gough. Earl and Joanie had a son, Stacy Matt Whaley, in 1970.

Earl played bass guitar in county bands in Wenatchee Valley, was salesman at J.C. Penney’s, logger and remodeled homes. 

He will be missed by wife, Joanie, sons Stacy, Danny, John, and daughters Debbie (Jay) Lewis and Shannon (Jorge) Martinez.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Orville, Zenith, Auston, and Estes; sisters Leona, Etta, and Cora. He also leaves behind grandchildren Wyatt Whaley, Mekense Vargas, Derrek Barrington, Brandi Pivar, Jeremy Noerenberg, Matt, Nick and Adam Martinez and Amanda Pineda.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sept. 9, 2017 at the Leavenworth Fire Hall Community Center at 1 p.m.

Ward’s Funeral Chapel, Leavenworth is in charge of the arrangements.
