Edna Mae Owens 80, passed away Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at home in Leavenworth, Washington. She was born Dec. 24, 1937 in Afognak, Alaska to Ray and Jenny Wood.
She is survived by one brother Vern Wood and family in Kodiak, Alaska. Loving Daughters, Deresa and Scott Norman, Leavenworth; Donna Lang, Mountlake Terrace; Lou Kinkade, Cle Elum; and son John Owens, Leavenworth. Grandchildren, Darryl and Raechel Chepoda; Maxine Monger; Karter Kinkade; Alex, Kayla, Dillion Owens; Megan (Garibay), Bart, Brett, and Camron Norman. Great grandchildren Landon and Lena.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Carmen Lang and Carmen’s fiance Rick Slightam.
Edna enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She loved playing bingo, going to yard sales, and various outdoor activities including hunting, fishing, and arrowhead hunting. She was a member of the 13th Regional Corporation representing the Aleut Native Americans and also a baptized member of the Russian Orthodox Church in Kodiak, Alaska.
The family will have a celebration of life for Edna in both Cle Elum and Leavenworth at a later date – which will be posted once arrangements have been made.
