Emerentia Perry

Emerentia Perry, 79, known to her friends as “Tia” and “Emi” to her family, passed away on May 11, 2017.

Tia was born Dec. 28, 1937 to Georg and Anna Walter in Mauerstetten, Germany and grew up in Kaufbeuren, Germany.

As a young woman, she modeled in Germany. She met her husband, a military man named Stuart Perry when she worked as an accountant at the Navy Exchange System in Bremerhaven, Germany. They married in June of 1961. They moved with their children to many locations in the U.S. and Europe.

She worked as an Activity Director at the Adult Action Center in Port Angeles, Washington. She had a passion for working with elderly adults. She also obtained her Criminal Justice degree at Peninsula College.

She relocated to Leavenworth, Washington because of its incredible beauty. It reminded her of Germany.

She was a great mother with a big heart. She loved being around her family and friends. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, knitting/crocheting and playing cards. She was also an avid bowler in her lifetime and loved watching sports.

Tia is survived by her partner, Jerry Hartman, daughter, Anita Perry-Byrne, son, Sean Perry and four grandchildren, Bryson Byrne, Shawn Fitzpatrick, Kevin Perry and Holly Perry, twi sisters, Irma Grollitsch, Hilde Bryant (David Adkin), two brothers, Horst (Heidi) Walter and Heinz (Honne) Walter and many nieces and nephews.

A private memorial service will be held at Our Lady of the Assumption church on Thursday, May 25th at 4:30 pm. We love you and will miss you always! Rest in Peace Tia/Mom/Omi.
