Frank J. Fassnacht

Frank J Fassnacht, 90, of Wenatchee, passed away peacefully Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at his daughters home in East Wenatchee. Frank was born Nov. 6, 1927 to Frank and Rose (Sehorn) Fassnacht in Subiaco, Arkansas. He attended St. Bendicts school there.    
In 1946, Frank moved to Leavenworth to live with relatives. He got his first job at Peshastin Lumber and Box and worked there until 1951. During that time, he met and then married Josephine (Jody) McKinney in 1950. They made Leavenworth their home for the next 49 years, where they raised their four daughters, before moving to Wenatchee in 1999.    
Frank worked for 13 years at the Yes Sir Garage in Leavenworth as parts manager. In 1966, Frank and Duane Brown together bought Alpine Chevron in Leavenworth and managed it until 1976. He then worked for the city of Leavenworth until retiring in 1989.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents and sister Cecilia of California. He is survived by his wife of 68 years Jody; two brothers Joe of Puyallup; Andy of California; sister Marie of California. Four daughters, Marcia (Marc) Buchanan of Wenatchee; Sally Taylor of East Wenatchee, Linda Orcutt and Kathy (Tom) Radach both of Leavenworth. Nine grandchildren and 11 great- grandchildren.
Frank was a lifetime active member of the Catholic Church. He was a Leavenworth volunteer fireman for 32 years. He was a 68 year member of the Wenatchee Eagles.
Frank was always friendly to everyone and would go out of his way to help someone in need. His first love was for his family. He loved family gatherings and holidays with all the kids were special to him. Many times he would rent a house at Ocean Shores to spend vacation time with family. Frank and Jody would enjoy fishing for perch at Fish Lake. They especially liked annual trips to Reno or Jackpot and often loaded the family in the back of the station wagon and drove to California to visit family. He will be forever missed.
A celebration of Frank’s life will be held on May 19 at the Leavenworth Fire Hall from 2-4 p.m. A donation can be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation. Arrangements made by Wards Funeral Chapel, Leavenworth.
