Joan Sanger, a resident of Leavenworth for the past 73 years, died Wednesday, Nov. 15th, 2017 at Mountain Meadows Senior Living in Leavenworth.
She was born February 21, 1921 in Staining, Lancashire, England to George and Lillian (Blackstock) Bradshaw. After Joan’s mother passed away, she was raised by her father and stepmother Ruby.
During World War II, on Nov. 20, 1942 in Blackpool, England, Joan married 8th Army Air Corpsman, Paul Sanger of Leavenworth. Joan came to the U.S. in November, 1944 Where she has lived ever since.
Joan survived by her daughter Carol and husband George Sikora; son Barry and his wife Jan Sanger and son Ed and his wife Peachy Sanger; Three granddaughters Doreen, Shelly and Jillana and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents her husband Paul and a grandson Casey.
What an exceptional lady she was. We will miss her. Until we meet again. Love you.

At Joan’s request, no services will be held at this time. Ward’s Funeral Chapel, Leavenworth is in charge of the arrangements.
