Seaton L. Ownby

S. L. Ownby (Seaton L. Ownby), 85, passed away peacefully on April 22, 2017 at Lake Ridge Alzheimer’s facility in Moses Lake, Washington.

S. L. Ownby was born March 8, 1932 and raised in Sevierville County, Tennessee. He was the son of Ernest and Ida (Husky) Ownby.

In his early years S.L. and Louise made their home and Peshastin-Dryden, Washington where they raised two children, Sharon and Kenney. S.L. made a living logging for over 25 years and later worked alongside his best friend Ernie Suttles of 70 years in Ernie’s Orchard.

S. L. had a passion for hard work, horseshoes, kids, hiking, card games, pool and good jokes. S.L. was always seen with a smile and a love for life. He enjoyed sports as well as being an avid Mariners fan.

He leaves his wife Louise Tidwell Ownby of 65 years; his daughter Sharon (Tom) Holmes of Moses Lake, Washington; Brother, Ray and sisters Ann and Aileen, all of Sevierville, Tennessee. S.L. had four grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren and his son Kenney’s life companion, Jan Cedarquist, of Leavenworth. He was preceded in death by his son Kenneth Ownby in 2015.

A private family service was held at Ward’s Funeral Chapel in Leavenworth.
