Sharon Southwick Williams, age 75, of McQueeny, Texas passed away suddenly on May 10, 2018. She was born Jan. 6, 1943 in Leavenworth, Washington to Dorothy Watson Southwick Elser and the late Robert Southwick. She graduated Leavenworth High School in 1961 and moved to California that fall with Linda Fortner.
While in California, she had various jobs including working as a bartender at South 40 in Milipitas. She met her loving husband of 53 years, James Robert Williams. They were married Feb. 27, 1965. She then studied at California State University Hayward where she received a B.A. in Accounting. After graduating, she went to work for Crown Zellerbach as a controller. While at Crown Zellerbach, they transferred her to Texas in the mid ‘90s. After retiring from Crown Zellerbach, she worked part time during the tax season with H&R Block.
She loved coming to Washington once a year to see her mother and family. She also did once a year trip to Florida to visit her cousins Lynn and Nancy Watson. She enjoyed her Sunday mornings having coffee with Tony Plaid. She adored spending time with her best friend Brenda Lopez, who was a true sister to her heart.
She is survived by her loving husband James Robert Williams of McQueeny, Texas, her mother Dorothy Elser of Dryden, Washington, son Darrell (Sherry) Williams of Tulsa, Oklahoma, brothers Larry (Karen) Southwick of Port Townsend, Washington, John (Trish) Elser of Spokane, Washington, Don Elser of Dryden, Washington and James (Jenn) Elser of Leavenworth, Washington, granddaughter Lucretia Adams of Sand Springs, Oklahoma, greatgrandchildren Madelynn Adams and Devin Williams-McClure and numerous nieces and nephews and other loving family members and friends. She is preceded in death by her father Robert Southwick, dad Justin Elser and granddaughter Jennifer Williams-McClure.
There is no service as per her request. We will be holding a celebration of life at the Elser-Watson family reunion in July. For any questions please feel free to contact the family.
