Posted

The Cascade Kodiak track and field team hosted their first meet of the season on April 17 against Cashmere, Waterville, Upper Valley Christian, Cascade Christian and Bridgeport. Last Saturday, the team was at the Quincy Invitational against 20 teams.
It was a great meet for the boys and girls as the girls finished fifth and boys team seventh. The outstanding performance of the meet, according to Head Coach Bill Davies was the girls pole vault where both Gianna Pistoresi and Julia Armstrong jumped 11 feet, which is a new school record.
Both girls are ranked second in state.
“Kascia Muscutt also had a great day placing third in the 400 with a time of 62 seconds. Josie Brennan place second in the 3200. She continues to get stronger every meet and should place in state,” Davies said.
For the boys, freshman standout Landon Davies continued to impress in the 3200 and 1600.
“Landon won the 3200 with a time of 10:03, beating one of the states best runners. He also ran a great 1600 placing second,” Davies said of his son, Landon.
Jace Seely placed third in the 400 meters, which was his best time of year. Will Cassayre was third in the pole vault and continues to be very competitive.
On Friday, the Kodiaks host the annual Rieke Invitational. On Saturday, they compete in the NCW Invite at Wenatchee High School. The CTL Championships are May 9 at Peshastin.
