Pumpkin Smash

Winton MFG will host their 1st Annual Pumpkin Composting Event at the Osborn School Field on Saturday, Nov. 4 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

There is a suggested donation of $1 to $5 dollars for each pumpkin smashing.

The event, which is sure to be a “smashing good time” will include food, drinks and more family fun.

Festival Día de los Muertos

The Icicle Creek Center for the Arts will host Festival Día de los Muertos on Saturday, Nov. 4 from 2-11 p.m.

The day of activities will include a showing of the movie “Coco,” Katrina Parade & Ofrenda at the Meadow Stage complete with a fun photo op for the family, a Danzas Multiculturales dance performance, and a dance party with Mariachi Real de Mexico.

There will also be face painting, as well as churros and tamales on sale.

Pray For Snow

Mission Ridge will host its 9th annual Pray for Snow Concert on Saturday, Nov. 4 from 6-10 p.m.

Pray for Snow marks the official kick-off to the winter season, and there’s no better way to celebrate winter culture in the Wenatchee Valley and the start of ski season with your friends from Mission Ridge and Leavenworth Winter Sports Club.

CobraHawk will provide live entertainment with a mix of original songs and rock covers from the 90s and 2000s. All proceeds from this year’s beer garden support Leavenworth Winter Sports Club and Ski Hill.”

This event is for ages 21 and older. Tickets are $20 in advance and $30 the day of the concert.

Birding by the River

Wenatchee River Institute will host Birding by the River on Wednesday, Nov 8 from 8-9:30 a.m. starting at the River Haus.

Those of all birding skill levels will be able to go birding with knowledgeable WRI staff around the campus. Binoculars will be available on-site to borrow.

Participants can also learn eBird, the largest biodiversity-related community science project in the world, and utilize it to record observations of local wild birds.

Stevens Pass: Season Updates

The Wenatchee River Institute will host the Red Barn event Stevens Pass: Season Updates on Thursday, Nov. 9 from 7-8 p.m.

Ellen Galbraith, a University of Washington alumna that has now been in her role as GM and VP at Stevens Pass for a little over a year, will share her insight on last winter and this summer, and to give a preview of what to expect this upcoming winter. She will also provide an overview of construction on Kehr’s Chair, which is being upgraded to a fixed-grip quad.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for a community social with beer and wine available for purchase. This is a free event with a donation basket at the door.

The presentation will start at 7:00pm. You may join in person in the Red Barn or livestream virtually.
