City of Leavenworth seeks volunteers for advisory board positions

Posted

LEAVENWORTH – The City of Leavenworth is calling upon civic-minded individuals to step forward and apply for multiple vacant roles on its citizens' advisory boards commencing in January 2024.

Housing Advisory Committee – In March 2023, the City Council Housing Committee proposed the establishment of a more diverse Housing Advisory Committee, reflective of the broader community. This newly formed committee will comprise a total of nine positions. While two of these positions will be designated for City Council members, the remaining roles will be available to community members residing within city limits or the Urban Growth Area (UGA). The city is keen to assemble a diverse mix of residents, business proprietors, developers, non-profit leaders, real estate experts, and representatives from minority groups.

Parking Advisory Committee – The city is actively seeking to fill a single position on the Parking Advisory Committee. Potential committee members are required to be city residents with a minimum of one year of residency within the community.

Individuals who meet the necessary qualifications and are eager to contribute are encouraged to submit a letter of interest to Andrea Fischer, City Clerk. These letters can be sent via email, traditional mail, or submitted in person, with the deadline set for 4:00 p.m. on Nov. 30.
