Election Results: 95 Percent of votes are counted, Mayor likely to be reelected in General Election

LEAVENWORTH – 4,161 more ballots have been counted for the 2023 General Election, with 1,100 ballots remaining. The recent count shows similar trends from Tuesday night.

Mayor Carl J. Florea pulled further ahead of opponent Rich Brinkman, now leading the poll with 58.83 percent of the vote.

Rhona Baron is gaining more traction over Tibor Lak for City Council #4, with 61.66 percent of the vote. As for City Council #1, Travis McMaster’s lead over current member Marco Aurilio dropped about two percentage points, but still sits at a comfortable 58.55 percent favorability. Shane Thayer is still the frontrunner for the seventh City Council seat.

Bruce Williams remains the likely choice for Hospital District No. 1 Commissioner #2, as well as Gustavo A. Montoya for Commissioner #4.

The next ballot count is scheduled for 4 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 13.
