Remnants of an innocent, but incredibly difficult to clean up, unknown suspect(s) poured soap down the drain on June 7 at the Festhalle fountain. The bronze mountain goats and children were engulfed in a mountain of bluish suds.
There were two soapy attacks in downtown Leavenworth, besides the one at the Festhalle and the other on 8th Street. Public Works spent the entire morning cleaning up the mess.
City of Leavenworth Communications Analyst Christie Voos reported the event on the city’s official Facebook page with the #pleasedonteventhoughitsoundsfun tagging the post.
“In all seriousness, please don’t put dish soap in the fountains,” Voos wrote.
The soap culprit(s) are still at large. Allegedly, the soap bubbles smell like Dawn Dish Soap.
