Greater Leavenworth Museum to host bi-annual cemetery cleanup

Posted

LEAVENWORTH — The Greater Leavenworth Museum will host its bi-annual cemetery cleanup event at the historic Old North Road Cemetery on Saturday, April 27, from 10:00 a.m. to noon. The museum invites community members to participate in this volunteer effort to maintain and beautify the cemetery grounds.

Participants are encouraged to bring their own gloves and yard tools, such as rakes and clippers, to assist with the cleanup. The event organizers request that volunteers arrive by 10:00 am to place their lunch orders, which will feature the popular "Danwich" from Dan's Market.

The Old North Road Cemetery, located across from the Icicle Station Amtrak station, is a significant historical site in the Leavenworth area. The cemetery cleanup event not only serves to preserve the grounds but also provides an opportunity for the community to come together and pay tribute to those who have passed.

To add to the event's ambiance, the Leavenworth Alphorns will provide musical entertainment throughout the morning. Their unique and traditional performances are sure to create a memorable atmosphere for all in attendance.

The Greater Leavenworth Museum encourages all interested community members to participate in this bi-annual event and help maintain the Old North Road Cemetery's beauty and historical significance.
