"Unsettled," the 2022 production by Dangerous Women

Posted

"Unsettled" was performed on May 20 and 21 at Snowy Owl Theater.  The scenes, created by cast members, swept through the audience like wildfire, bringing theater goers to their feet several times during and after the performances for extended ovations and “talk back” with the cast.

Descriptors like “phenomenal,” “truthful,” “powerful.” “healing,” and "moved to tears," echoed across Snowy Owl Theater before taking flight on social media throughout the weekend and into the following week.  For many Indigenous people of the Colville Confederated tribes, the show, including a scene about Indian Boarding schools, was appreciated as an accurate and beautiful representation.

Dangerous Women is in the process of setting a date for May 2023 with Icicle Creek Center for the Arts and considering additional performances of Unsettled in 2023 as many were disappointed when tickets sold out.  The locally based group of diverse female artists is dedicated to telling powerful stories from women’s history on stage.

They can be found online at Dangerous-women.org where the group is in the process of developing a photo gallery, cast information and educational material from Unsettled.  Creative Director/Producer Rhona Baron can be reached at rhonabaron@icloud.com.
