Democrats promise more politics of power

Posted

Hoping to ride a “blue wave” back into D.C., Democrats have pulled out all of the stops to regain their power at the Federal level. But what exactly are they promising to do with that power? Have you heard any positive promises that will improve life for “we the people?”

Kim Schrier promises to keep politics out of the Doctor/Patient relationship. She supports Obamacare but blames Republicans for the out-of-control rise in premiums. She does admit that accepting all Medicare patients would bankrupt her practice. So, exactly where does she stand on the health care issue? Seems she wants the Federal money but doesn’t want the government to tell doctors and patients exactly how to use that money.

To be fair, the Republicans could have repealed Obamacare and didn’t do it. Obamacare was, is and will remain unsustainable. It will implode and neither candidate is likely to change that.

Following the disgusting Brett Kavanaugh debacle, Democrats have lost significant respect — and well they should. I have likened the episode to political rape. Rape has little to do with sex, it is more about anger, power and intimidation. What was done to Kavanaugh had little to do with his qualifications. It was simply a last ditch effort to prevent his confirmation at any cost.

It is not the first time that Democrats have resorted to the politics of personal destruction to defeat a political opponent. But in my experience, it was clearly the worst.

Do we really want to allow this kind of political theater to drive our national debate?

What is clear is there is no such thing as bipartisanship in politics today. Given that reality, the only way we can influence the behavior of either party is to reject any candidate that is willing to put D or an R after their name. Once elected, they will be expected to vote as a block along the party line. So you are no longer voting for an individual, you are voting for the party.

So in this election, I am encouraging all Republicans and Independents to support the Republican ticket and make sure you get out and vote. Democrats should either vote for Republicans as a protest against the Democrat’s tactics or stay home.

It is the only way we can truly send a message that change is needed.
