Red Cross Donors Needed

The American Red Cross continues to experience a severe blood shortage. Donors are needed now to ensure blood is available for patients in need of lifesaving care this month.  

As a thank-you, all who come to give now to July 31 will receive a $10 Amazon.com Gift Card via email and will also receive automatic entry for a chance to win gas for a year (a $5,000 value).Additionally, all who come to donate throughout the entire month of July will be automatically entered for a chance to win a trip for four to Cedar Point or Knott’s Berry Farm.  

Donate on August 4, 12:30 p.m.-6:30 p.m., Cashmere United Methodist Church, 213 S. Division Street and on August 5, 2 p.m.-7 p.m., LDS, 10170 Titus Road, Leavenworth.

Traditional Indigenous Basket Weaving Workshop

A traditional indigenous basket weaving workshop will take place on Saturday, July 31 and Sunday, August 1 from 10 a.m.- 3 p.m. at the Wenatchee River Institute. The cost is $120 for nonmembers and $100 for members. Register online at the Wenatchee River Institute website wenatcheeriverinstitute.org

Icicle Chamber Creek Music Festival

Icicle Creek Center for the Arts presents the Icicle Creek Chamber Music Festival now through July 24. Performances will be both online and with limited in person attendance with performances at 7 p.m.  In person and online tickets can be purchased online at icicle.org or by calling 548-6347x1

NCW Libraries

Is partnering with Write on the River to host a new virtual NCW Writers Group, an online community created by local writers for local writers. Writers across North Central Washington are invited to connect with other artists, discuss the craft, ask for advice, and share resources in this inclusive writers club for all ages, skill levels, genres and interests. The free meetings will be held virtually on Zoom at 5 p.m. every third Wednesday of the month starting July 21. An optional social hour will follow each meeting. The sessions will be hosted by Wenatchee Public Library’s Nikolas Penny and Write on the River board member Holly Thorpe. Find the Zoom link at www.ncwlibraries.org/writers-group.
