Child Find Screenings

Cashmere School District is offering free developmental screenings for children between the ages of 3 and 5 who are not yet kindergarten eligible. Screenings address potential delays in the following skill areas: Speech and Language, Cognitive, Motor, Self-Help, Social/Emotional

Screenings will be held on Wednesday, March 29 at Vale Elementary. Screenings are by appointment only. Please contact Student Support Services for more information,

Evaluaciones de Desarrollo

El Distrito Escolar de Cashmere ofrece evaluaciones de desarrollo gratuitos para niños entre las edades de 3 y 5 años que aún no son elegibles para Kínder. Los exámenes abordan posibles retrasos en las siguientes áreas de habilidades: Habla y lenguaje, Cognitivas, Motrices, Autoayuda, Social/Emocional. Las evaluaciones se llevarán a cabo el miércoles 29 de marzo en la Escuela Primaria, Vale Elementary. Las evaluaciones son solo con cita previa. Nominations Open: Bird Fest Founders’ Award

Help the Wenatchee River Institute and North Central Washington Audubon Society celebrate and honor volunteerism. The Founders' Award was inspired by the team of people who came together in 2003 to launch the very first Leavenworth Spring Bird Fest. Nominations are open for two categories. Award decisions will be based on one or more of the following criteria:

Provided a significant amount of time and energy in support of Bird Fest goals and tasks.

Developed a policy or process change which has contributed to the more efficient and expansive operation. Longevity of volunteer service to Bird Fest.

Contributed significantly through community science efforts in support of mission objectives. This could be in the development of field trips, the collection and analysis of data, or other ways.

The Cascadia Conservation District

Upper Valley Scholarship for Women Returning to Higher Education

Applications are now being accepted for the Upper Valley Scholarship supported by P.E.O. Chapter JF, Leavenworth, WA. The purpose of the scholarship is to assist women in need of financial help in returning to higher education at an accredited university, college, or technical school in the State of Washington. This needs-based scholarship must be used for school expenses and will be paid directly to the school. Applications must be received for consideration by April 30, 2023. Scholarship funds will be available by the Fall of 2023 and be sent directly to the school financial department upon confirmation of enrollment. Women applicants must be seeking further higher education at either the undergraduate or graduate level and meet the following criteria: Applicant must be age 30 or above and reside in Chelan or Douglas County, WA. Applicants must be currently enrolled in or returning to a higher education program after a two-year or more absence. The colleges, universities, or technical schools where applicants have been accepted must be fully accredited and within the State of Washington, however, out-of-state on-line accredited schools, are acceptable.  Applicants may re-submit applications each year until they complete their programs of study.
