Nearly 150 firefighters, auxiliary members, commissioners and family members of Lake Wenatchee Fire and Rescue gathered Jan.10 at Pine River Ranch to celebrate another year of service together savings lives and protecting property. Also attending were Sheriff Brian Burnett, representatives of Rivercom and surrounding fire districts. In 2017, the department answered 281 fire, emergency medical and rescue calls and welcomed three newly qualified firefighters. The department now carries a roster of 35 active firefighters and officers, 15 of those being EMT qualified, and 116 auxiliary members.
