Leavenworth swim hosts WRAC

The Leavenworth swim finished their two-meet homestead on July 2 against the Wenatchee Racquet and Athletic Club (WRAC) with several Kodiak swimmers placing high in various events.

Aliyah Anthony won the 8 and Under 25-yard girls backstroke while Peyton Smith and Eden Williams finished third and fourth respectively.

Josephine Race and Eve Gunter took the top two spots in the 8 and Under girls 100-yard individual medley race. Stella Peterson won the 8 and Under 25-yard butterfly and Anthony finished second.

Peyton Smith placed second in the 8 and Under girls 25-yard backstroke while Cecily Cortes took fourth. Eden Williams, Cortes and Ella Henscheid recorded a 2-4 finish in the 8 and Under girls 25-yard freestyle.

Naomi Tveten clinched the top spot in the 9-10 girls 100-yard IM. Daisy Swart finished second and Lydia Dirkse took fourth.

Tveten captured another first-place finish, this time in the 9-10 girls 50-yard freestyle. Cordelia Freeland finished second and Kate Smith was third.

Kate Smith captured first in the 9-10 girls 50-yard breaststroke. Freeland placed second and Ryann Johnson finished fourth. Tveten, Ryann Johnson and Swart recorded a 1-3 finish in the 9-10 girls 50-yard butterfly.

Swart, Johnson and Elizabeth Ising recorded a 1-3 finish in the 9-10 girls 100-yard freestyle. Freeland won the 9-10 girls 50-yard backstroke.

Maizy Goff and Teyva Dillon took the top two spots in the 11-12 girls 100-yard freestyle while Kelsea Shefford finished fourth. Goff won the 11-12 girls 100-yard IM while Baylee Unger finished second.

In the 11-12 girls 50-yard freestyle, Goff, Unger and Elsey McDevitt recorded a 1-3 placing. Dillon and McDevitt recorded a 1-2 finish in the 11-12 girls 50-yard backstroke.

Unger, McDevitt and Dillon went 2-4 in the 11-12 girls 50-yard breaststroke. Cassidy Gillespie took the top spot in the 13-14 girls 100-yard IM and Mackenzie McLeod finished fourth.

Rayen Blue won the 13-14 girls 50-yard backstroke and Elsa Swart took second. Blue also clinched first in the 13-14 girls 50-yard freestyle. Elsa Swart and Jailyn Reinhart placed second and third, respectively.

Blue won her third event in the 13-14 girls 50-yard butterfly while Gillespie took second. Reinhart finished third in the 13-14 girls 50-yard breaststroke and Elsa Swart was fourth.

In the 13-14 girls 100-yard freestyle, Cassidy Gillespie and Mary Ising finished second and third, respectively.

Leavenworth also recorded a 1-3 finish in the 15-18 girls 50-yard breaststroke. Zoe McDevitt won the event while Tiera Goff finished second and Celeste Villalobos took third.

Zoe McDevitt won the 15-18 girls 50-yard backstroke and Sarah Pinneo finished second. Goff won the 15-18 girls 50-yard butterfly while Pinneo finished third.

Goff clinched the top spot in the 15-18 girls 50-yard freestyle. Zoe McDevitt took second and Villalobos finished third.  

Villalobos took second in the 15-18 girls 100-yard freestyle.

The Kodiak boys also placed high in their races. Jackson Fiano, Sam Overland and Gabe Simon recorded a 1-3 finish in the 8 and Under boys 25-yard backstroke.

Landon Smith, Kyler Saugen and Kannon Breaux took the top three spots in the 8 and Under 50-yard freestyle.

Nick Highland-szwarc and Sam Overland placed first and second, respectively in the 8 and Under boys 100-yard IM. Highland-szwarc also won the 8 and Under boys 25-yard butterfly while Oliver Freeland took second.

Oliver Freeland took first in the 8 and Under boys 25-yard backstroke while Landon Smith and Kyler Saugen finished third and fourth, respectively.

Highland-szwarc won his third individual event in the 8 and Under 25-yard freestyle while Saugen took second.

Easton Steinhauer won the 9-10 boys 100-yard IM and Ryder Fiano took second. Steinhauer also led the Leavenworth 9-10 boys to a 1-4 finish in the 100-yard freestyle. Miles Smith, Ryder Fiano and Kolson Breaux finished 2-4.  

Hugh Hyland-szwarc clinched the top spot in the 9-10 boys 50-yard backstroke and second in the 50-yard breaststroke. Miles Smith took fourth in the 9-10 boys 50-yard breaststroke.

Milo Gibbs won the 9-10 boys 50-yard butterfly while Ryder Fiano placed third. Gibbs took second in the 9-10 boys 50-yard freestyle and Steunhauer came in second.

Ezra Swart won the 11-12 boys 100-yard IM and Cooper Comeau finished second.

In the 11-12 boys 50-yard breaststroke, Ezra Swart, Kellen Reinhart and Shane Slette recorded a 1-3 finish. Kellen Reinhart, Tom McDevitt, Cooper Comeau and Rylen Hatmaker took the top four spots in the 11-12 boys 100-yard freestyle.

Kellen Reinhart, Jacob Tveten, Tom McDevitt and Shane Slette took the top four places in the 11-12 boys 50-yard freestyle,.

Jaxson Groby took third in the 11-12 boys 50-yard backstroke.  Caed Wilkinson won the 13-14 boys 100-yard IM while Owen Steinhauer finished fourth.

Spencer Boyd captured first in the 13-14 boys 50-yard freestyle. Caed Wilkinson took third and Aiden Groby finished fourth. Anthony Villalobos took second in the 13-14 boys 50-yard backstroke and Michael Simon finished fourth.

Caed Wilkinson, Anthony Villalobos and Spencer Boyd were 2-4 in the 13-14 boys 50-yard breaststroke. Boyd also won the 13-14 boys 50-yard butterfly.

In the 50-yard freestyle, the Leavenworth boys recorded a 1-4 finish with Isaac Tveten leading the way. James Young finished second while Stephen Tveten and David Ising placed third and fourth, respectively.

Young won the 15-18 boys 50-yard breaststroke. Stephen Tveten finished second and William Cassayre took fourth.

Isaac Tveten took first in the 15-18 boys 50-yard backstroke and John McLeod placed third. Young, Stephen Tveten and David Ising recorded a 1-3 finish in the 15-18 boys 50-yard butterfly.

Landon Davies finished second in the 15-18 boys 100-yard freestyle.

The Kodiaks are entering the final leg of the regular season. They travel to Ephrata on July 11 for their final away meet before Champs.
