LETTER TO THE EDITOR

Posted

Warren Buffett (the Oracle of Omaha) once said, “Risk happens when you don’t know what you’re doing”.  Chernobyl and Fukushima nuclear accidents show that nuclear power proponents ignored the risks involved in siting and response times in critical situations. The risk takers at the Grant County Public Utility District, entering into the Tri-Energy Partnership to build a new nuclear reactor, may not have issued a notice of insufficiency to its ratepayers showing any kind of need for such an undertaking.  Have these Grant County P.U.D. risk takers consulted a bond house or insurance agency?

The 1989 W.P.P.S.S. bondholder securities litigation in the District Court of the District of Arizona should make any Washington P.U.D. ratepayer wary of nuclear power salesmen.
