Upper Valley Christian School Expo

Posted

The Upper Valley Christian School in Leavenworth hosted a school-wide expo on May 20th that show-cased work done by students Pre K through high school during spring quarter. A large number of parents and friends were on hand to enjoy exhibits featuring historical figures, countries, robotics, art, and culinary.

Robotic students built their own robots, first establishing the movement of the robots, then programing them for specific actions. The robots demonstrated several movements and ended with a choreographed robotic dance.

Large posters demonstrating both historical characters and countries were on display with students dressed in costume of the country or characters they had studied. The costumes were delightful, all designed by the students themselves. Among those present to guide and answer historical questions were Julius Caeser, Queen Victoria, Mary Queen of Scots and Napoleon. Students dressed as historical musicians included Mozart, Bach, Beethoven, and Clara Schumann.

A display of art arrayed three large walls with art from every class as well objects crafted from clay.

As a grand finale, the culinary class created a large variety of treats that were enjoyed by visitors including chocolate crème puffs, a variety of hand held pies, frosted cupcakes, and cookies. Everything was made from scratch in the spacious school kitchen including cream fillings and pie crusts.

The Upper Valley Christian School is located at 111 Ski Hill Drive in Leavenworth and is currently accepting applications for the 2022-2023 school year. For further information call the school at 509-548-5292.
