The Chumstick Wildfire Stewardship Coalition (CWSC) is an amazing group of local residents, fire district members, a Chelan County Commissioner, and the Washington Department of Natural Resources, and several conservation organizations who have realized that addressing wildfire issues in the Leavenworth Community is an important part of the health and welfare of our local citizens and our local forests. This grassroots group works with private and public landowners to create communities that are more resistant to wildfire. 
We have several upcoming community events, programs, workshops and opportunities! We hope you can join us at one of these events listed below or contact us for more information regarding our cost share programs or events you may be eligible to participate in at
2021 Annual Town Hall Meeting, Tuesday, June 1, 2021 2:30 pm, at the Fire Hall in Leavenworth. Your Invited! 
This annual meeting will update Leavenworth residents about CWSC and forest health treatment efforts. Participating agencies include USFS, DNR, Upper Wenatchee Pilot Project, Cascadia Conservation District, City of Leavenworth, Chelan County, Chelan County Fire District 3. Preregister now at to attend in person or receive a link to the meeting via a zoom link. 
Upcoming Meetings and Events: 
Eagle Creek and Little Chumstick Town Hall Meetings regarding the 1-2-3 Project on Eagle Creek and the Little Chumstick, dates to be determined. The public can learn about work beginning on 100 acres with 20 participating landowners. This is a two-year project sponsored by the Washington Department of Natural Resources and facilitated by the Washington Resource Conservation and Development Council. Learn more about vegetative fuels reduction and our cost-share program you can participate in at this upcoming event. 
The CWSC is also looking forward to partnering with Community Farmer’s Markets in the area this summer to bring information to the community about wildfire prevention and vegetative fuels reduction and cost share opportunities for landowners to do restoration work on their lands if eligible. Look forward to more information coming soon about a Farmer’s Market event with the CWSC!
