See update: Law enforcement responds to incident on Chumstick Highway

UPDATE: As of about 6:30 a.m. today Chumstick Road is open and the shelter-in-place has been cancelled. Will update when more news becomes available.

LEAVENWORTH - Chelan County Sheriff Mike Morrison reports on March 28, 2023 law enforcement has responded to an incident on the Chumstick Highway north of Leavenworth. The Sheriff’s Office is requesting citizens who live in the area shelter in place between Merry Canyon and milepost 11 along Chumstick Highway. This incident involves a barricaded subject. No further information will be available until the situation is resolved.
Chumstick Highway is closed from milepost 9 to Milepost 11 and access to Merry Canyon is closed until further notice.
