Link Transit Ambassadors

Posted

Link Transit is seeking student applicants for its Transit Ambassador Program. Transit Ambassadors develop job skills and scholarship references through the successful completion of 30 volunteer hours assisting in Link Transit’s marketing and outreach efforts. Now in its 15th year, the Transit Ambassador Program is designed to give students a better understanding of the value of public transportation and how Link Transit serves the communities in Chelan and Douglas Counties.

Transit ambassadors gain an understanding of the environmental and financial benefits that public transportation provides to communities while gaining life skills related to utilizing public transit to access work, school, and recreational opportunities. Additionally, Transit Ambassadors will assist in creating a marketing and promotional campaign targeted at attracting youth riders to public transportation.

Transit Ambassadors may come from any school within Link’s service area. The program is open to any student who will be 14 or older by the application deadline of Friday, April 1, 2022. Applications may be made online at www. linktransit.com/ta. Applicants must submit a photo of themselves and include an essay of 200 words or less on the benefits of Public Transit.

Students selected as Transit Ambassadors must attend orientation on Sunday, April 10, and assist in promoting Link services and student pass programs during school registration events. Transit Ambassadors will receive training on handling Frequently Asked Transit Questions, and act as a student representative within their school and the community to promote use of public transportation.

For more information on the Transit Ambassador program, visit Link’s web site at www. linktransit.com/ta, or call 509- 664-7624.
