Rain, wind gusts and snow headed our way Friday, Nov. 4, thru weekend

Posted

NCW - Weather forecasts from the National Weather Service are calling for unfavorable conditions beginning Friday, Nov. 4 and extending through the weekend. Conditions will range from heavy rains in some parts of Chelan County to strong winds and our first low-elevation snow event of the season.

Beginning Friday, citizens should plan for heavy rains that will transition to snowfall over the weekend. Wind gusts in the Wenatchee area could reach more than 40 mph. Please see the attached Special Weather Briefing from the National Weather Service in Spokane for details.

While Chelan County Public Works road crews are out today cleaning storm drains and culverts, the county asks residents to keep an eye on those ditches, culverts and catch basins in their neighborhoods.

Most trees have not yet lost their leaves. The forecasted high winds and wind gusts, combined with the rain, may cause blockages in stormwater facilities. Please make sure storm drains, catch basins and culverts near your property are free of leaves and other debris. In addition, wet snow could put a strain on trees.
