On May 17, the annual Cascade High School Mr. Kodiak competition was held at the Leavenworth Festhalle, after having to skip the event last year due to Covid 19.

Mr. Kodiak is a spoof on the Junior Miss Pageant and this year 10 senior boys and their escorts participated. The event was emceed by Clint Strand.

The contestants are judged by 5 local community members on their talent, a pick-up line and a hilarious fitness routine.  Each young man chose a celebrity/character to impersonate throughout the evening.

The 10 contestants participating this year were Aiden Ringel, Cameron Ostrem, Landon Davies, Saul Viscaino, Owen Skylstad, Jerome Jerome, Cody Enloe, Cole Warnaca, Leonardo Guerrero and Alex Flick.

Each contestant wins a sash at the end of the program and the top three winners earn more recognition. In third place, was Cody Enloe-Mr. All that and a Bag of Chips; In Second place, was Jerome Jerome as Mr. First Loser and Landon Davies, aka Forrest Gump, won the title of Mr. Kodiak 2021 with solid performances in all 3 areas.

Landon wrote and sang a funny, yet emotional parody about Covid 19. His escort was Morgan Colvin, aka “Jen-Nay" who completed his act for the evening. After a long year of no gatherings, it was enjoyable to come together as a community to share in some fun and laughter. The proceeds raised from this event in ticket sales and auction items help cover the costs of the Senior Celebration at Cascade High School. This year the event raised over $8,300 thanks to some very generous Leavenworth business owners and community members.
