Ravits recognized

Cascade School District would like to recognize Molly Ravits as the most recent recipient of her National Board Teaching Certification. Cascade School District (CSD) was honored this school year as a National Board Accomplished District, with the highest percentage of National Board Certified Teachers in Eastern Washington. The process of obtaining National Board Certification allows teachers to “hone their practice, showcase their talent in the classroom and demonstrate their dedication to their students and their profession”.

Molly Ravits stated that pursuing board certification allowed her to analyze and reflect on her teaching in a deliberate and specific way, which strengthened her practice. The National Board organization has a huge focus on equity, which is core to her teaching philosophy, especially for those underrepresented in the science field; therefore, the work also validated the type of work she was already prioritizing. In addition, she wanted to join the ranks of all the other amazing teachers in the Cascade School District who are also National Board certified.

Molly was honored for her achievement at the Cascade School Board meeting on January 13, 2020.
