WENATCHEE — Artificial intelligence has become an increasingly common tool for businesses, schools, healthcare providers and government agencies across North Central Washington, and organizers of next week's AI Expo say this year's event is designed to show attendees how those technologies are already being put to work throughout the region.

The sixth annual AI Expo, presented by NCW Tech Alliance, will take place Tuesday, Aug. 11, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Wenatchee Convention Center and Pybus Public Market. The event will feature hands-on workshops, live demonstrations and presentations aimed at helping participants move from AI curiosity to practical, responsible use.

"AI adoption is accelerating across the region," NCW Tech Alliance Marketing Director David Mabee said in a statement. "People are looking for clear, responsible ways to use these tools, and the AI Expo is built to help them move from curiosity to confident use."

The day begins with 13 workshop sessions designed for users ranging from beginners to experienced technology professionals. Organizers say the sessions will focus on practical skills, emerging tools and responsible governance, giving participants opportunities to test applications and learn alongside peers.

Attendees will then gather for an afternoon plenary session featuring a keynote address by Drew Zabrocki and Martha King of TOTEM, followed by the second annual AI Use Case Competition sponsored by Microsoft.

Four finalists will present live demonstrations showing how artificial intelligence is being used in agriculture, healthcare, behavioral health, education and other community services across North Central Washington. Audience members will vote to select a Fan Favorite Use Case, with the winning presenter receiving a $4,000 Microsoft Fan Favorite Award.

The afternoon program also includes demonstrations of emerging AI technologies and a panel discussion featuring leaders from local government, energy, healthcare, workforce development and education. Panelists will discuss how their organizations are integrating artificial intelligence into daily operations while balancing innovation with responsible implementation.

The event concludes with a networking reception sponsored by Native Network.

Tickets are $20 for nonmembers and $10 for NCW Tech Alliance members. Six STEM clock hours are available through North Central ESD 171 for educators attending the event.
