WENATCHEE - The Wenatchee AppleSox staged a dramatic comeback to secure their fourth consecutive victory, defeating the Nanaimo NightOwls 10-7 on Friday night at Paul Thomas Sr. Stadium.

Trailing 3-0 early, the AppleSox (33-16, 15-7 second half) unleashed a potent offensive display, scoring 10 runs across the fourth and fifth innings to take control of the game.

Ryan Martinez (2-0) earned the win for Wenatchee, allowing three runs over six innings in a resilient performance. The right-hander matched his season-high in innings pitched, providing crucial stability for the AppleSox.

The turning point came in the fourth inning when Kanoa Morisaki delivered a clutch two-out, two-RBI single up the middle, giving Wenatchee its first lead of the night. James Castagnola had earlier sparked the rally with an RBI triple, while Cooper Whitton contributed a sacrifice fly.

Wenatchee's offensive onslaught continued in the fifth, as they capitalized on Nanaimo's defensive miscues and control issues. The AppleSox pushed across six runs on just two hits, benefiting from two bases-loaded walks and a pair of costly two-out errors by the NightOwls.

With this victory, Wenatchee solidified its position atop the North Division standings, both overall and in the second half of the season. The win sets the stage for a potential series clincher on Saturday night, as the AppleSox aim for their 12th series victory of the 2024 campaign.
