Applications open for P.E.O. scholarship for women 25 and older

LEAVENWORTH — Applications are being accepted for a scholarship supported by P.E.O. Chapter JF of Leavenworth for women age 25 and older seeking to return to higher education.

The scholarship is intended to assist women who need financial help to enroll in an accredited university, college or technical school in Washington state.

Applications must be received by April 30. Scholarship funds will be available by fall 2026 and will be sent directly to the school’s financial department upon confirmation of enrollment.

To qualify, applicants must be at least 25 years old and reside in Chelan or Douglas counties. Applicants must be currently enrolled in or returning to a higher education program after an absence of two years or more.

Over the past 11 years, the P.E.O. scholarship has provided more than $45,000 in support to women in Chelan and Douglas counties.

Eligible institutions must be fully accredited and located within Washington. Out-of-state accredited online schools are also acceptable. Applicants may reapply each year until they complete their program of study.
