LEAVENWORTH — The City of Leavenworth has selected ARC Architects to lead the Downtown Parking Garage Feasibility and Design project, a key initiative aimed at addressing parking needs and supporting business access in the city’s core.
The selection follows a competitive Request for Qualifications (RFQ) process that drew proposals from multiple firms. ARC was chosen for its experience with similar projects and its community-focused design approach. Its project team includes PCS Structural Solutions, a firm that has completed designs for more than 50 parking structures across the Northwest.
“We are incredibly excited to partner with ARC and their team on this crucial project,” said Matthew Selby, city administrator. “Their expertise will be invaluable as we explore sustainable and effective parking solutions that will not only alleviate congestion but also enhance the overall experience for our community.”
The project will evaluate potential locations, aesthetics, environmental impacts and economic feasibility for a new parking structure. The effort is part of Leavenworth’s long-term strategy to improve infrastructure and visitor access downtown.
“ARC Architects is thrilled to begin working with the City of Leavenworth and its vibrant community on this essential parking initiative,” said Jeff Wandasiewicz, ARC Architects principal and project manager. “We are particularly excited to apply our understanding of Bavarian design to a project that directly addresses the specific parking challenges of a small city with significant tourist visitation.”
ARC and city staff will now begin collecting survey data, conducting a feasibility study, and preparing preliminary design concepts.
