Blackmon has commanding lead in district judge race

CHELAN COUNTY —  Chelan District Court Judge Allen F. Blackmon was well on his way to re-election as of the first ballot count on Tuesday evening in his race with opponent Jay Eyestone.

As of the first ballot count Blackmon led with 61.32% or 16,160 votes. Eyestone trailed with 38.68% or 10,194 votes.

Blackmon is currently the presiding Judge for Chelan County District Court and was a prior Chelan County Deputy Prosecutor. He has served as judge and deputy prosecutor for 28 years.

Eyestone is currently serving as a public defender for City of Wenatchee, a conflict public defender for Douglas County, and attorney in private practice including civil litigation and estate planning. 

Voter turnout was at 59.94% for the Nov. 5, 2024 general election. The next ballot count will be released on Wednesday, November 6 at 5 p.m.
