Café Argonaut to open at Sleeping Lady Mountain Resort

Posted

LEAVENWORTH — A new culinary venture is set to open this summer at Sleeping Lady Mountain Resort as local restaurateurs Noah and Lindsey Dahlstrom prepare to launch Café Argonaut in the former space of O’Grady’s Pantry & Mercantile, which had long served as a community hub before struggling during the pandemic.

The Dahlstroms, known for their Leavenworth-based Argonaut Coffee and Schnitzel Boys Sandwich Company — later renamed Argonaut Kitchen — will bring their hospitality and food-service experience to the Sleeping Lady campus through a new partnership with the Icicle Fund.

“The Sleeping Lady campus is such a special place, and we believe this cafe can become something our community cherishes for years to come,” Lindsey Dahlstrom said. “We want all to feel welcomed in the space like a ‘home away from home’ for families, tourists, people recreating the Icicle or anyone looking for a delicious coffee and a bite to eat.”

Café Argonaut will offer a menu reflective of its Hwy 2 coffee shop, while expanding into heartier lunch fare and a curated beverage selection, including beer, wine, and cocktails. The mercantile space will also feature locally made pottery, paintings, and textiles.

“We’re really building this to be the place that we would want to visit,” Noah Dahlstrom said. “A place that shows off the best of what we love — a great coffee program, wine from all over the world, some tinned fish and great cheese, all served next to pottery and paintings and textiles from our awesome local artist community.”

The project represents more than a hospitality expansion. Lease income from Café Argonaut will directly support the Icicle Fund’s Community Grants Program, which provides over $1 million annually in unrestricted operating grants to nonprofits in North Central Washington focused on the arts, environment, and history.

“As the owners and stewards of Sleeping Lady Mountain Resort, we are dedicated to making sure that the campus serves our community and that the income we receive from the property is directly reinvested in nonprofits doing great work in our backyard,” said Phil Lacey, executive director of the Icicle Fund. “The lease income from this partnership will directly support our Community Grants Program and will start making a difference for local nonprofits as early as the spring of 2026.”

The café is expected to open later this summer. For updates, follow Argonaut Coffee & Biscuits and Sleeping Lady Mountain Resort on social media.
