LAKE WENATCHEE — The Cascade Medical Foundation’s 22nd annual Marson and Marson Cascade Golf Classic raised more than $52,000 on June 16, setting a new fundraising record for the event.
Held at Kahler Mountain Club near Lake Wenatchee, the tournament brought together 120 participants across 30 teams, along with more than 40 volunteers. The event is the foundation’s largest fundraiser of the year, with proceeds earmarked to purchase a new Clinic Bundle for Cascade Medical Center.
“With fantastic weather and Kahler Mountain Club Golf Course in prime condition awaiting their arrival, golfers showed up in anticipation of a competitive and fun outing and were not disappointed,” said Rich Adamson, co-chair of the Foundation’s golf committee.
The tournament drew broad community support, including 16 major sponsors, 22 hole sponsors, and 45 in-kind sponsors.
“It is with heartfelt gratitude to our 16 Major Sponsors, 22 Hole Sponsors, 45 In-Kind Sponsors and 120 participants that we say THANK YOU for helping us meet and surpass our goal,” Adamson said.
Randy Pollock, the other tournament co-chair, credited the success to those working behind the scenes.
“The functional success of the tournament certainly comes about because of the incredible hours of volunteer work that comes from a cadre of dedicated friends, family and board members,” Pollock said. “I applaud and thank them for their contributions that lead to the tournament being the success that it is.”
The day included multiple contests and prizes. In the Low Gross category, Ken Bauman, Randy Alexander, Dennis McMahon, and Dwayne McMahon earned first place. In the Low Net category, top honors went to Mark Eisenmann, Grady Cruze, Kim Ronbeck, and Kerry Cruze.
Kathy Montgomery and Phil McConnell took top prizes in the putting contest, with McConnell winning after a four-way putt-off. The chipping contest was won by Marcia Plewman and Jim Burrage. Ewen Syme and Tim Wangen split the prize in the Driving Range Target Contest, now in its second year.
