Posted

LEAVENWORTH - The Cascade Kodiaks boys soccer team has been on a roll this season, maintaining their undefeated record with impressive wins against Chelan and Quincy.

On March 26th, the Kodiaks faced off against the Chelan Goats, delivering a dominant performance that resulted in a 6-0 victory. Angel Sandoval led the charge with a hat-trick, while Shane Slette, Karsten Bowles, and Jaxson Groby each added a goal to the scoreboard. Coach Jesus Sandoval praised his team's ability to maintain possession and recover the ball quickly, but noted that there is still room for improvement in the final third of the field.

The Kodiaks continued their winning ways on March 28th, defeating the Quincy Jackrabbits 3-1 in a physical match played in wet conditions. Maverick Miller opened the scoring for the Kodiaks off a corner kick assisted by Ryan Denega. Quincy managed to equalize before halftime, but the Kodiaks pulled ahead in the second half with goals from Angel Sandoval and Shane Slette. The Kodiak defense, anchored by goalkeeper Max Spiegel, held strong to secure the victory.

Assistant Coach Raul Mata acknowledged the importance of the win against a tough Quincy team, praising the boys for their character and ability to perform under pressure. The Kodiaks now hold a 6-0 overall record, with a 3-0 mark in league play.

The team will enjoy a well-deserved break during spring break before returning to action on April 6th for a non-conference match against the Elma Eagles. With their undefeated streak intact, the Kodiaks look poised for a successful run through the remainder of the season.
